HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
farmee lives in the cloud and is almost completely hardware-independent! Of course, there is a local installation on some kind of (micro-)computer, but it is only responsible for basic controls like turning a water pump on or off. Everything else a little more sophisticated, every algorithm or data-based control set, is running in the cloud. That means, you can control farmee from every computer and every smartphone you already own.
The local installation is also as hardware agnostic as possible: it runs on Raspberry, Arduino, Linux, Windows, you name it. We made especially sure to include low-cost hardware such as the Raspberry Pi, so you don’t have to buy fancy expensive hardware. We’re working hard on supporting all kinds of sensors and actuators, but if there’s anything specific you’d love to see happen: tell us!
